TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
The conference is a two-day event (13-14 March 2018). 45 minute-long lectures by the invited speakers will be interspersed with interactive panel discussions and engaging co-curricular activities for students. The programme has been prepared to make the event intensive but enriching for all the participants (see Detailed Programme below).
PROGRAMME SUMMARY
13 March 2018
Inauguration of the conference will be followed by 3 lectures (2 confirmed), lunch and the display of entries received in the poster-making competition on the theme ‘Successful Industry-Academia Partnerships: A Global History’. In the post-lunch session, there will be 3 more lectures (2 confirmed), one panel discussion titled ‘From Project Pitch to Partnerships’ (students would offer ideas/problems to be solved and the panellists would demonstrate how collaborative projects between industry and academia take shape). The day would end with the intercollegiate competition ‘MicroBurst’.
14 March 2018
There will be 3 lectures and a panel discussion on ‘Careers in Industry and Academia’ before lunch. Post-lunch, distinguished alumni will deliver scientific presentations, the intercollegiate ‘Quiz Micrologique’ will be conducted, the winning teams of the competitions ‘Bergey’s MicroMelodies’ and ‘Prescott’s MicroActs’ will perform live in front of the audience and the conference will conclude with the valedictory ceremony (prize distribution and the vote of thanks).
